The award will be in the marketplace shortly, possibly before Christmas.
The Kiss veteran plays a solo show that draws rock fans young and old to the Aladdin Theater
Monday, November 13, 2006 LEE WILLIAMS
Paul Stanley, the Star Child from super-glam group Kiss landed at the Aladdin Theater on Saturday night, without the signature heavy-makeup (OK, maybe a bit of "guyliner"), 7-inch platform boots, pyrotechnic effects, or stage-acrobatics that forged the band's legendary live performances.
But fans -- veterans of the so-called "Kiss Army" and brand new recruits -- showed up for the rare chance to pay homage to the main singer and songwriter behind the supergroup, which has sold around 100 million albums. The all-age show was sold-out.
"I skipped high school in my senior year back in 1976 to see them live in Seattle," said 49-year-old Portlander David Rojo. "And now, 30 years later, I'm here with my son for his first show."
Today's strip is another one of those that came about from a real-life situation. I knew that a limited edition signed guitar from KISS' Paul Stanley was being offered exclusively at Target stores but forgot exactly when. I didn't see the ad until yesterday and of course there wasn't one to be found anywhere. UGH! Maybe somewhere in the back of my mind I believe that Paul Stanley will see this comic, chuckle and have pity on a poor soul. But, yeah, I DO doubt it. Anyway, enjoy!
I have been a big KISS fan my whole life! Yesterday I saw in the newspaper that there was a new autographed Paul Stanley guitar at Target. I asked my dad if we could get it, and he said YES. I was so excited because it would be such a great guitar to have and I want to learn to play the guitar. Plus it is signed by Paul Stanley!
My mom called a bunch of Target stores and they all kept telling her the same thing, they had all the other guitars in the flyer except for Paul's because he was selling out fast. Finally we called one that had the guitar and my dad and I went to get it.
When I saw the guitar in the store I was amazed! The box looks great and the guitar is so beautiful. It comes with 3 picks, a Paul guitar strap and a certificate saying Paul's autograph is real too. I was so happy to bring this guitar home. Here's a photo of my guitar!
The latest issue of the fan produced Paul Stanley's Paradise Fanzine is now available.
Issue #4 - Fall 2006 features Paul and KISS rock Japan and Chumash, interviews with Tommy Denander and Victor Indrizzo about Paul's Live To Win CD and another spectacular Paul centerfold!
The 28 pages, b/w and color fan magazine is done by the fans for the fans and is all about Paul!
Pictured here is the Paul portion of the Target flyer from Sunday's paper. The flyer was advertising the new Paul Stanley limited edition signed Washburn guitar. This Target exclusive guitar was limited to 7000 guitars nationwide.
Through November 28, Amazon.com is selling Paul's LIVE TO WIN CD for only $7.99 as part of their Thanksgiving week music event. There is a limit of 2 CDs per person at this great price!
So if you still have not picked up the CD or need one for a gift, you won't beat this price!
There are millions of people that can say they have seen KISS live. It truly is an unforgettable experience. The bombs, the fire, the blood, the pyro, and of course the makeup all deliver a show that no other band can truly provide. Seeing KISS with 25,000 other people is always a blast. You can count on running into people you haven't seen in years and revisiting old memories while creating new ones. I've seen KISS live a lot of times myself. Dating back to the Dynasty era, I've attended shows in different states all across the United States. In 1989 I watched Paul Stanley play some gigs at small clubs and it was unlike any KISS show I ever saw. It was stripped down, and all that was left was the music -- the reason I started loving KISS in the first place. There was an energy in these club gigs that showed Paul had something to prove. He performed KISS classics but mixed in solo tunes from his 1978 effort as well as a Led Zeppelin cover tune (Communication Breakdown) and a then-unreleased gem that would wind up on the 1990 KISS release, Hot in the Shade (Hide Your Heart). After that small tour ended there was speculation that Paul was planning a second solo effort, but it was just a rumor. Some 18 years, a slew of KISS records and a reunion tour or three later, Paul finally put out a second solo effort – Live to Win.
With great anticipation I finally got to see the Paul Stanley show. He was amazing at the House of Blues here in LA. What a great night I had, and I sat with Gene Simmons and the lovely Shannon Tweed. He grabbed me at said, "SIT DOWN"! Not one to argue with the God of Thunder as he had the best table in the house. We chatted about how good Paul sounded and looked and other than a fan who had too much to drink breathing too close to Gene, we ate cookies (warm ones at that!) and shared hellos with all the other KISS guests floating around the rail at the HOB.
My friends and I went backstage where we greeted Paul and his lovely wife Erin and son Evan who I understand is learning guitar and even starting to write music! My brother was in attendance, Tommy Thayer, Andreas Carlsson the hit songwriter, John 5 from Marilyn Manson and the usual cast of thousands for a hot LA event. I greeted many fans and it was a fantastic night to see Paul rock on stage. His band was excellent, and he looked and played great. It was fun to see him have a good time on stage looking cool as the street style Starchild.
Sadly, today is the 15th anniversary of the death of our beloved friend Eric Carr.
We all miss and remember Eric for his devotion to his fans and his dedication and belief in KISS. He was a ferocious drummer with a gentle spirit. We all lost him way too soon.
How about a little KISS? Paul Stanley visits "Detroit Rock City"
By Maria Allard/C & G Staff Writer
Ask any KISS fanatic, and they'll give it to you straight. KISS isn't just a rock band, it's a phenomenon.
About 1,200 diehard fans stood in line for hours Nov. 4 to meet the super group's front man, Paul Stanley, who made an appearance at the Parisian department store in Rochester Hills.
Cameras clicked and fans howled as the Starchild casually rode down the escalator to greet the enthusiastic crowd. The rocker was in town to promote the latest in KISS merchandise, a cologne packaged in "his" and "hers" scents.
Although the historical significance of Thanksgiving is of little relevance to most people today, take a moment to think of all you can be thankful for. We can all stop and count our blessings, let those we love know our feelings and make a commitment to help those less fortunate.
Paul Stanley blew the roof off of the Hollywood House of Blues Tuesday night!! He rocked, he looked and sounded great!!! But what amazed me more was his compassion for Tony, the fan who I gave my extra ticket to. Tony has CP (cerebral palsy) or as he says "I have it, it doesn't have me." I met Tony at the HOB in Hollywood as he took the bus there. We talked about KISS and Tony gave me a CD his friend Dave did using Tony as the theme for the CD. We talked and then headed over to the line outside the HOB. All of a sudden, we hear "Got to Choose" coming out the doors. Like the shop owner who gives the kids the key to the candy store, the security guards opened the doors and let about 30 of us in to watch Paul's soundcheck. When we got in everyone rushed the stage, but I had to patiently wait for Tony to catch up. When he did, Paul immediately acknowledged him and came over and threw a pick motioning to me to make sure Tony got it... we heard "Live to Win" and finally "Love Gun." Paul was in great spirits joking with us about the "Elder" album and was in a great mood. I also got a guitar pick and Tony also got a signed "Live to Win" CD (promotional copy).
Paul will appear on Uncle Joe Benson's - OFF THE RECORD - December 2nd and 3rd. The hour long nationally syndicated, radio program airs every week on over 114 stations nationwide.

Paul Stanley: Live To Win
Its been 9 years since anything good has come from the KISS camp that wasn’t a rehash of the days before they took their make up off. The last KISS release of original material was Psycho Circus back in 1998, which wasn’t necessarily their best effort.
In 2004 Gene Simmons released Asshole his first solo album since 1978, which is hardly something I would recommend you to buy. However, being one of those goofy KISS fans that have to buy anything new from the band, I just had to buy it for some reason, a decision I regretted soon after making the purchase.
This year, Paul Stanley has released his first solo album since 1978, called Live to Win.
Paul has hand signed a limited number of guitars that will be available for you to purchase. These are especially hot because each limited edition guitar comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity & collectable box.
Having just finished my first shows since 1989, I have to say I was blown away! We sounded even better than I had hoped and your reactions seemed to say you all felt the same. Thank you.
Sasha, Jimmy, Paul, Haffa and Nate were really incredible both off and onstage. The road crew's pride in being a part of this was written all over them and I was proud and lucky to have them with me. They too were an inspiration.
These shows reconnected for me the incredible intensity that can be created by loving what you do and giving it your all. I remember as a kid, I would go to concerts in NY and see Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Humble Pie, Led Zeppelin and countless other bands play small theaters and blow the place apart. Not with pyro or special effects, but with sheer energy, belief in their music and a determination to reach the audience and take them to a place that only they could. THAT's why I loved concerts and that's why I wanted to follow in their footsteps. This short tour and you in the audience confirmed my belief that we could also go there. We did and we will again.
As far as live shows, we are lining up shows outside of the US. and I hope to do many more here also.
So...
Goodbye is only for now
'Cause I'm coming back
I swear it somehow.
Paul Stanley, The Fillmore
San Francisco, CA
November 13, 2006
I started to write this review by running down the set list and talking about each song, but then started to think about what was really important to me as fan. With the internet we all know what the set list was going to be before arriving. So what is important? How much fun it was and how Paul made me feel. The rock and roll experience. Music and rock and roll is about the feelings in your gut, your soul, and your heart. It’s not about technical perfection; it’s not about looking for mistakes. It’s about raising your fist when you are 42 and going YEAHHHHH!
Paul Stanley: The Star-Child Shines On Chicago's House of Blues - Chicago, IL, United States - November 6, 2006
By Melanie (Sass) Falina
This past Monday night at the House of Blues if you'd momentarily forgotten where you were, you might guess - based on the patrons - that you were at a KISS concert. You'd see an array of KISS t-shirts spanning three decades, the occasional fan in full face-makeup dressed as one of the band's trademarked personas, and here and there someone carrying around the remnants of a black shiny guitar, once whole, and what would be instantly recognized by any KISS fan as one of the guitars Paul Stanley, KISS co-founder, had demolished at the end of one of hundreds of KISS concerts.
But for this show we weren't in a venue that could accommodate a small country. There wouldn't be any fireworks, confetti, or flames. Tonight we belong to ...Paul Stanley, and each member of his sardine-packed audience wouldn't have it any other way.
Paul ended his LIVE TO WIN Tour in Las Vegas last night with a blistering set at the Palms Casino. As with previous shows, Paul laughed and joked with the crowd, thoroughly enjoying himself. He is obviously proud of the way he and his backing band sound and on several occasions told the crowd just that. The audience did their part to let Paul know they agreed, singing along from the opening of "LIVE TO WIN" to the end of "Goodbye".
Here is a picture of the Palms' sign for Paul's Vegas show last night as well as a few sound check photos. Paul is playing a new Washburn guitar in the photos.
Paul rocked the LA House Of Blues yesterday with another strong performance! The show, which was attended by many of Paul's family and friends, was SOLD OUT. KISS band mates Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer as well as former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick were spotted in the crowd.
If you had told me when I was 12-years old that I'd be in an empty auditorium watching Paul Stanley up close and personal I wouldn't have believed you. Long story short, I found myself inside the historic Fillmore in San Francisco watching Paul's sound check on a rainy and chilly evening.
After watching the band and crew twiddle around on the instruments for awhile, I noticed Paul casually entering the room and making his way to the stage. He cracked a few jokes with crew guys and then stepped to the mic and sang the verse from the Grateful Dead song 'Casey Jones'; an obvious nod to the venue's history that had me text messaging a friend who's both an old school KISS fan and a Deadhead.
After the brief homage to San Francisco music history, Paul and band ran through 'Got To Choose' in its entirety (my inner 12-year old said "No way!"). What followed was a relaxed and entertaining display that seemed to trace Paul's early record collection (I'd like to think it was another nod to his visit to The Fillmore). He did a brief version of Hendrix's 'The Wind Cries Mary' followed by a Led Zeppelin medley featuring snippets of 'Dazed And Confused', ' What Is And What Should Never Be', and 'You Shook Me'.
Sitting here at sound check in the legendary Fillmore for tonight's San Francisco show but first wanted to post about the great Portland show!
Paul absolutely destroyed Portland on Saturday Night with his most energetic performance yet. Dancing around the stage for what seemed like the entire evening, Paul was at ease and in total command! He delighted the crowd with a powerful set backed by the tremendous house band, or should I say the Paul Stanley Band. Amazingly, Paul and company seem to somehow be getting better as the tour progresses, which is strange to write considering how great all of the performances have been.
One thing that is 100% clear, Paul Stanley is more comfortable on stage then ever before!Joking and chatting with the crowd between songs, he makes the show more intimate and frankly more fun. At one point in the show Paul appeased a fan by singing a verse and chorus of "Hotter Then Hell", with entire crowd singing the chorus.
The crowd deserves kudos too for a stellar performance, singing, clapping and cheering at deafening levels throughout the show!
More photos later tonight from this evening's show.
Paul Stanley and his new solo album, Live To Win, were featured quite heavily in the December edition of BURRN! Magazine in Japan. There was a two page interview with Paul, a full page advertisement for Live To Win and his album was in the review section with three separate positive reviews.
In addition, three BURRN! editors have Paul on their play list for this month.
Seventeen years after his last solo outing, and 28 years after his last solo album, Paul Stanley has once again hit the road, sans makeup and KISS cohorts, for a club tour showcasing KISS classics and solo material from 1974 to the present.
Upon my arrival at the venue at 7pm, the KISS Army was already out in full force. There was KISS paraphernalia everywhere; hats, t-shirts, halter-tops, and quite a few tattoos. However, I was somewhat surprised at the absence of painted faces. Clearly, the fans were here to see Paul Stanley the solo artist, and to hear him dust off some lost KISS classics as well as a few choice cuts from his two solo albums.
Here are a few pictures from sound check in Portland at the Aladdin Theater. Paul and company performed "Got To Choose", "Live To Win" and "Love Gun". Paul then met with some radio station winners for a brief meet and greet. The last photo is Paul visiting with his young fan - Ben Cataldo.

Paul Stanley, the star-faced guitarist of Kiss, wasted not a second of his time on the House of Blues stage, immediately electrifying the audience with his entrance. Needing no pyrotechnics or any other stage tricks, Stanley’s intense eyes and seasoned stage presence captivated everyone all on their own.
Dressed in a sheer leopard-print shirt, characteristically cut down to his navel, Stanley began the show with the title track from his new album Live To Win, with serious energy. In order to promote the album, the second of his solo efforts, the first of which was released in 1978, Stanley is touring seventeen cities in less than a month, backed by the house band from the Rockstar TV series, which Stanley fondly referred to as “my band.” Chicago was his eleventh scheduled stop on the tour and he made nothing less than a phenomenal impression.
Mixing old Kiss tunes in with his new and older solo works, Stanley exhibited an amazing stage presence, dancing throughout the entire show and showing zero signs of slowing down. The sound was muddy through the first four songs, making Stanley’s rock god voice hard to distinguish. Eventually though, the noise cleared up and the audience, comprised of college-age kids through people old enough to own the first Kiss album on vinyl, was treated to Stanley’s shiny, sexy voice, which, unlike many other singers’ from his era, reached every note we expected him to reach without fail.
As we previously reported, Paul's Chicago show at the House of Blues was recorded for a possible DVD, and he certainly picked a great show to tape! Paul was in fine form Monday and delivered another powerful performance. The audience responded in a big way, singing along with Paul throughout the night!
Behind the scenes photos from the taping will be posted Friday on the site.
In addition to the killer set list Paul has consistently performed throughout his current tour, the fans in St. Paul got an added bonus Tuesday night.
There was a young woman in the front row holding a sign that read, "My Name is Shandi". Paul broke from the set list and sang the first verse of Shandi (from the Unmasked album). Just him and his guitar, without the rest of the band.
It was great to see Paul ad-lib a bit. The crowd really enjoyed the entire show and Paul looked and sounded better than ever.
As solo performer, Kiss' Stanley captivates Mount Clemens crowd
FLINT JOURNAL REVIEW

Legend has it that when Kiss, the clown princes of rock, announced they were taking off the greasepaint in 1983, someone asked frontman Paul Stanley, "How are you going to play?"
"Hopefully the same way I always have," Stanley replied, bemused.
Dumb question? Perhaps, but flash forward to 2006, and Kiss fans have to be wondering: How is the Starchild faring on a tour to support his newest solo album, "Live to Win," without the bombast and spectacle he and his cohorts have provided for more than 30 years?
The answer is he's flourishing if his Sunday night stop at the Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens is any indication.

"Flint?" ponders Kiss frontman Paul Stanley, on the phone from Orlando, Fla. "Home of Grand Funk Railroad ... It doesn't get much better than that."
Kiss fans may disagree. But with their favorite band on hiatus, Stanley is promoting a new solo album, "Live to Win," with a rare, three-week club tour coming to the Emerald Theatre in Mount Clemens at 8 p.m. Sunday.
It's his first solo outing since all four members of the classic Kiss lineup released solo albums in 1978. "When I first heard that, I thought somebody did the math wrong," cracks the group's charismatic frontman, born Stanley Harvey Eisen 54 years ago.
Here are a few sound check photos from Sunday's show in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Paul played several songs for a group of radio station contest winners before coming out into the crowd for a brief meet and greet.
For four hours Saturday, Paul greeted over 1200 fans of all ages at the Parisian Store in the Rochester Hills Mall. Appearing at the Michigan store to promote the KISS Fragrance line, Paul was genuinely happy to meet his fans! He hugged, shook hands, held babies, posed for photos and signed bottles of the fragrance throughout the event.
One of many touching moments occurred when a US Soldier and his family met Paul and the crowd erupted in cheers and applause. Watching Paul interact with the fans, especially the kids, was also a wonderful treat. So was the sight of fans leaving the stage after meeting Paul, as many were simply flustered and needed to catch their breath!

'Star Child' Stanley looks back affectionately at KISS days
By LARRY WIDEN
Special to the Journal Sentinel
In the early '70s, four New York musicians were influenced by glam-rockers like David Bowie and Alice Cooper as well as Japan's traditional Kabuki actors.
Calling themselves KISS, they experimented with makeup and costumes until each developed a distinctive stage persona. Drummer Peter Criss became The Cat, lead guitarist Ace Frehley was The Spaceman, bassist Gene Simmons was The Demon, and lead singer Paul Stanley was The Star Child.
Initially playing New York's small clubs and bars, their shows mixed music and pyrotechnic displays while Simmons breathed fire and drooled blood. Three years and four albums later, they were one of the best-known acts in the world.
As a result of a grueling tour schedule with very few breaks and a very long day promoting KISSOLOGY in NY on Halloween, Paul has been
ordered by his throat doctor to take several days off from performing to rest his voice.
Paul regrettably has to cancel his appearance on the Bob & Tom show as well as his Milwaukee concert Friday. His KISS Fragrance promotional appearance Saturday in Detroit and the rest of the LIVE TO WIN Tour will proceed as scheduled.
Real busy weekend of lot's of cool rock stuff. Saturday night I attended Paul Stanley's solo show at Irving Plaza in NYC. Paul has always been my favorite member of the band, one of my favorite singers, and his '78 solo album is still one of the great under the radar gems in rock music. Needless to say the crowd was pumped and the place was packed. Everyone got to the venue early and didn't move until the show ended so they didn't lose their standing space. Really great buzz in the crowd. Paul was performing his third show in a row but still sang his ass off. When I interviewed him in LA prior to this tour starting he expressed some concern about singing a full set on his own and how he would hold up, no worries, he pretty much nailed everything. His backing band was made up of the TV show Rock Star's house band. They all did a solid job, the drummer probably being the highlight of the group.
Check out the cool Paul Stanley mannequin in the KISS section of a new Chicago area store - SCENE. The store carries the KISS Fragrances and other KISS collectibles!
As we mentioned previously, Paul and Gene were the Grand Marshals of the NYC Halloween Parade last night! For over 90 minutes, they appeared with several KISS "Girls" on the KISS Float, waiving and interacting with the crowd of well over a million. The atmosphere was very reminiscent of Mardi Gras with thousands of people wearing all types of costumes and who better to lead the pack then Paul & Gene!
