IN ALBUQUERQUE FOR ROCK & BREWS EVENT

KISS frontmen Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are taking over the Duke City Tuesday for the grand opening of their restaurant, Rock & Brews.

Rock & Brews opened to the public last week, but tonight, the restaurant will host a special VIP party and fundraiser event.

A percentage of the proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the New Mexico VA Health Care System’s recreation programs, including the Adaptive Sports Program, National Games (Winter Sports Clinic, Wheelchair Games, Senior Games, etc.), veteran craft kits and recreational outings for veterans.

Stanley and Simmons got up dark and early to talk to KOB Eyewitness News 4’s Nikki Ibarra about their newest venture.

“The truth is that Albuquerque has always been a rockin’ town. We’ve been coming here and playing concerts longer than you’ve been alive,” Simmons told Ibarra. “It’s always been a place, you know, people stop in if they don’t live here and they love the community because it’s one million, so it’s just big enough to be a city, small enough to still care about your neighbor.”

Rock & Brews will honor wounded warriors with a luncheon before the fundraising event at 6:30 p.m. The tickets for the party are sold out, but Stanley and Simmons said they want Albuquerque residents to come check out the craft beers and signature dishes the restaurant has to offer.

The restaurant is located at 4800 Montgomery NE just west of San Mateo.
